brand america backlash?

catching up on blogs revealed a “backlash” against the finalists for the future brand brand america contest - of which i placed 2nd. i’ve posted in the comments links to my full entry, so we’ll see what comes of that. (as of 9am today, my comments were awaiting moderation)

i want to lash back and say what’s really on my mind, but that’s not needed or beneficial to anyone. so here’s me trying to stay positive about this all.

a bad day for christians

apparently, some christians in new york have taken to praying over the bull statue, which some are comparing to the golden calf statue (baal) of the old testament.

i do profess to be a christian and believer of Jesus Christ. i do believe we should pray to God for the things that are on our heart. however, i think praying for “more money” starts to cross the line into selfishness. why all the concern now, since it’s our economies? how often do we pray for the economies of africa?

on the same note, i’ve been told the average church-goer gives less than 2% back. so are we praying for more money to keep more?

stuff christians like

i just got onto stuff christians like, a hilarious blog. check it out. two of my favorites so far are “frisbee is God’s favorite sport” and “the elisah mural

16.14

1st corinthians 16.14 — do everything in love.

it’s kind of hard to always put this into action in my life. it’s easy to lose site of this simple statement in the rough times. keep hold of it and much seems to float away.
