I’m a Christian
What’s this page for?
In the past, I’ve interviewed with design agencies and freelance clients. A few times the interviewer/client will bring up the fact that I’m a Christian. My faith is brought up with questions like:
Do you think you can work in this environment? You know, we’re pretty foul people.
Or, from my potential employer:
I’m Jewish. Would you have any problem working under me?
So, as past experience has taught me, maybe I need a disclaimer.
Yes, I can work with you
I grew up playing soccer, even played all the way through college, so I have heard almost any combination of foul language imaginable (although some beg to differ). It’s true I choose not to use bad language, but I’m not going condemn anyone (it’s not my job to condemn). However, I am practical; for example, I think it’s bad business etiquette to use harsh language when pitching an idea to a potential client.
I consider myself non-denominational, but I would say I’ve been exposed to many things. I have friends who are staunch atheists. I have family who are hard-core Catholic. I’ve been to a Jewish synagogue before as well as a Buddhist temple. If anything, I will always try to not be ignorant. Furthermore, it’s not my job to judge.
Dare I throw my political views into play? Nah…
I’m a lovable guy, really
So if you’re on my site wondering why I say I’m a “Jesus follower” or “God believer,” know that my faith is important to me. I know it’s not my job to force anything on anyone be it religious or political beliefs.
Drop me a line, we’ll meet and have some coffee. I guarantee I’ll make you laugh at least once. If nothing else, at least I can say I’m bald and you can laugh at me, right?
